Quick Pasta For Two:
1/2 box linguini, cooked not rinsed
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons beuuter (not margerine)
capers
artichoke hearts, chopped
green onions for garnish
fresh parsley
minced garlic (I like alot)
precooked chicken, cubed (optional)
salt and pepper
Boil pasta in salted water.
Melt the butter and oil together, add garlic and cook for 5 minutes, but do not brown. Then add the chicken, capers, artichokes, salt and pepper. Saute for 5 to 7 minutes, add noodles back in to coat with the garlic oil you made. (You could also add some fresh lemon to this)
Serve in a large bowl with fresh parsley and green onions.
I like this with fresh bread and olive oil and pepper for dipping and a salad that you could mimic the artichokes in.
Pasta Salad for Days:
1 box garden rotini
artichokes
black olives, sliced
broccoli, chopped
cauliflower, chopped
sliced carrots
Italian dressing, as much as you need
fresh pepper
Mix all and chill for a couple of hours or overnight.
There is always the standard boil or steam and eat leaves with butter.
As for art: I think a big bowl of artichokes and lemons is nice, you could do it in a tall big cylinder vase as well with bamboo shoots infused. What a great center piece that makes!!!
Good luck to you.

I start off trimming all the leaves and cut the bottoms so they stand up straight. Put them in a pot of water and boil for 15 minutes, take them out and let them cool. Meanwhile take breadcrumbs, parsley, Italian cheese, garlic powder and enough olive oil to mix to a wet Now put a little in each leaf and push down to get to the begining of the leaf. Do all the leaves. Now take a pan and put a few inches of water in it and bake artichokes at 350degrees until done.(if you can remove a leaf without any trouble there done..

My mom makes a terrifc pasta salad with artichokes using vinegar and oil dressing. She puts diced tomatoes in it, Bermuda onion thinly sliced, sliced black and green olives, small cubes of cheddar and pepperjack cheese, some shredded carrot, and of course artichoke leaves. Delicious and easy!

I cook mine and use them in salad. My favorite is artichokes, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese with fresh basil. I use Good Seasons (dry) Zesty Italian mixed as directed on the package. It is so good and so easy!

Marinate in a red wine vinegar, garlic, lemon pepper, italian herbs. Grill the artichoke and put it on pizza with other marinated and grilled vegies like mushrooms, capsicum, eggplant, sundried tomatoes and olives. yummy.

Since you included art, I can answer. I used to enjoy shooting things with a rifle. If you have a range and no other use for them, why not target practice?
