big tea drinkers, but what about coffee? Do you like it or not? Do you have a Starbuck's on practically every other block like we do?

No, I don't work for Starbuck's. I like their caramel frapuccino very much, though. You should try it. BTW, I like tea better. I used to like coffee more, and became addicted, so now I'll only have it about every two weeks. Tea is actually better for you, don't you know that?

I have a very good friend form Nottingham who drinks way more coffee than tea. It's funny the misconceptions some Americans have about England. It looks to me like coffee if popular there, but Starbuck's is not. Starbuck's has its good and bad points. Yes, it can be expensive if you go for concoctions with big names. If you go for a simple regular coffee, it's less than a dollar American. I think the tea tradition is a great one, and I hope it's not lost. There's a reason they call it "liquid gold." It's got so many health benefits, because of its antioxidants. English style tea hasn't really caught on here. Americans have recently discovered the benefits of green tea, and we've been going through more of an Asian tea craze right now. I think Americans are fascinated by the Asian ritual of drinking tea, and how much it is respected there.

You tend to see alot of them around London, but it isn't quite as bad as in the US. I personally find the coffee over-rated, and I'm a huge coffee lover. Much prefer to brew my own in a french press.
The UK has more of them than you see in Europe, mostly because of the point you made. Unlike places like France, Italy, Germany, there's not much of a coffee house tradition here.

They started this craze a few years ago but it never really took off in the UK. I think you can still get Starbucks in the larger cities wherever there are "office workers". But in common with anything which is percieved as too "American", the coffee craze never really caught on...

The price may have been a disincentive, too. Also- amusingly- UK people do not like to be confronted with too many confusing "choices" when buying tea or coffee.

Probably not, I've seen a few, mostly in the cities I've visited but, been to one recently in one of our larger towns, so perhaps they are just testing the market at the moment and expanding as they do.

BTW I much prefer coffee, tea is for wimps :)

Hey... is this question part of their marketing stratagy, do you work for Starbucks? :p

According to the Starbucks website, a search of stores in the United Kingdom brings up 462.

Quite a few, but it seems like there are that many in Las Vegas alone! :-)
