like when I'm updating my ipod it shows me a message asking if I want to update. like I would but, I want to know if it will delete the older version and the songs that I have downloaded. I really don't want to update my itunes version and download all that music again. help!

like when I'm updating my ipod it shows me a message asking if I want to update. like I would but, I want to know if it will delete the older version and the songs that I have downloaded and if I have to reinstall my ipod software. I really don't want to update my itunes version and download all that music again and reinstall my ipods. help!

no, itunes will not delete your old music when downloading the update, your music is actually saved in a file on your computer, when the upgrade is downloading you will see the new music being transfered.

It will not. I have used iTunes ever since it came out, and nothing like that has ever happened to me. When it says UPDATE, that's all it's gonna do. You prolly should keep a copy of the iTunes Music folder so you'll never have to rearrange your playlists incase you do something stupid.

The latest version of iTunes 7.0 has some bugs, so better wait a couple weeks for Apple to fix them before installing. Once fixed you should be able to upgrade without losing anything.

It will only update your iTunes software. It will not affect your music.

No, it does not delete your library. It merely ameliorations some consequences ( provides a genius participant, a dj, and so on) and blah blah blah. It edits notwithstanding, yet by no potential delete your track.

I updated mine, and no it will not erase your previously downloaded music. :)
