Earl D ... when you and yours rapture out ... Me and your "lake of fire folk" .. are going to be sitting here meekly ... patiently awaiting our inheritance ... What was it thet the meek are supposed to inherit?

The earth?

I appreciate your thought Earl .. but Saul-Paul and John of Patmos were not the saviour you claim .. why do you blindly accept their schizophrenic teachings that want to doom so many people ?

more Earl: minus your certainty about our doom .. some of the speculations you make- the what ifs? .. are quite nice contemplations ..

Miraclewhip your thoughts both last time and this time are interesting and thoughtful...
OK..if you want to know my opinion MW... the ones that are the blunderers are just "fresh souls" that do not know any better yet ... your likely belief(an admission that I am speculating here)is that our individual lives are a "once around" deal..
No, honestly...I do not want eternal judgement or damnation for anyone...
We may all collectively be insects.. they are meek .. their dna adaptive ...
The earth chain may still need to process souls toward spirit ...So MW, maybe you, me and the peretrators will all become insects next ..should we extinguish humanity's flame through bad stewardship ...
Our Urban design is poor .. but it is important to realise .. Our bad stewardship is not totally tied to our transportation .. Electrical power in our homes .. This makes greenhouse gases too ... Sin? .. No- not so much as poor choices we made naively over a century ago that we need to

But I do not see us "weening" so to speak, MW .. at all ... I am not driving(I bring this up as some toot their horns about it)... but that isn't the point ...

The point is that our technology, industries and culture have the potential to transform .. without asking for these "great sacrifices" everyone speaks of ..

Nascar racing ... kids driving ATV's(ATV's and motorboats are huge polluters) .. sentence these fresh dumb people to hell? ... No, that is not my desire in the least ... cut back painfully on our energy consumption? .. No Gore's plan won't work ...Change our industry and research to building a spaceprogram to get hydrogen for clean abundant energy with no carbon byproducts ... yes ... but we'll need to stop putting the best minds into weapons research .. and many craving fire, vindication, and destruction ... should we accomplish all that .. will be disappointed I guess.. but is better that my friend's baby has a full life .. than we

Brian Sefar- I really don't disagree with your themes... but if you'd have studied the other previous two on this theme... you may have seen an interconnectivity...The other "issues" you mentioned will not be addressed until global oil-weapons political interests are displaced from their power clutch .. Also muslim and christians alike need to find consensus to do this displacing ...Instead of being brainwashed by media ..

I've thought about this more since the last time you asked. The more interesting question is "WHY don't we have clean energy now?" The sad, dark reasons that answer that question make me GLAD that there is doom in store described by Earl D, holy judgment upon the vicious people who have squelched exploration into alternative energy sources, stirred up divisions among brothers, callously arranged wars and famines--to gain themselves economic and political leverage. Wouldn't you like, just a wee tiny bit, Gmonkai, to watch THOSE ROTTERS GO DOWN FOR GOOD? The parable of the wheat and tares says, the good harvest is lifted to God in Heaven, while the Tyrants and Sadists are burned. Christ then gives the purged and restored earth back to His Bride, the meek. Are you going to be one of the meek?

Just because there's a major remod. project being planned by God doesn't mean we shouldn't try our best to keep the place up until then. Being designated as STEWARDS of the planet (as humans were in Genesis) is a huge responsibility, and I'm delighted to hear that more and more Chrisitians are taking that charge seriously.

To that end, "Clean Energy Now" is not the only question we should be asking, it's not even the FIRST question. Better questions might be: Why are we choosing to live so far away from our families and jobs, and the people on whom we depend for food, medicine, cultural enrichment and social interaction so that we NEED to use so much energy? If we don't answer THAT question, we might have clean energy, but still have Ugly Urban Sprawl raping the landscape, crowded and dangerous highways, and a disconnected society made up of lonely, isolated people.

Even though the end of the world is enetitable and there will be rivers and lakes of fire, which could be natural, artifical, caused by environment or A bomb, I think we should do our best to keep God's world clean and I'm amazed how many Christians who think they are going to heaven get into cars and dump tons of pollutants -- far MORE pollutants than any cigarettes smokers does with second hand smoke -- into the world and still call themselves God's Children.

When you put Gas into your car at least $1 of that money is going to fund Islam and Islamic nations.

There are 50 million registered vehicles in California alone.

we generate huge amounts of heat, those cars SUCK in the Oxygen we and plants and animals breath and put out CO and CO2, both of which are toxic to man and animals.

It is very hard to fathom that Christians are involved is this massacre of the Earth, of God's Earth, this RAPE of the environment.

I have not owned a car in almost 30 years.

If the end of times is due, partially or compeltley, to greenhouse gases, then Christians are going to have to face the fact that they are partially responsible and maybe they have the mark of the beast of what they have done.

Clean energy is not going to be easily done, however, on a world-wide basis and clean transportation aside from Mules and Horses, is impossible to find.

I wonder how Christians would take it if Jesus came and talked against the car and the factories that run on oil or coal or even nuclear power.

What would Christians do if JEsus said taht was sinful.

Obviously, if the humanity is to survive at all...a prospect that is actually quite uncertain at this point... then clean, non-polluting, renewable forms of energy will have to be developed, distributed, and used.

However, is this the only question? Absolutely not. Humanity also faces the problems of controlling population growth, developing sustainable agricultural practices, resolving international conflict, reducing nuclear proliferation, countering the threat of global pandemics created by the scope of travel around the world today, and other issues.

In point of fact, "Clean Energy Now!?" is really more of a statement than a question, isn't it? And, it has been posted in the wrong category as it is more of a political or environmental question than a religion and spirituality question.

This definitely not a pop quiz question no.....

Hey, i think it's a valid and a question of the utmost importance. But hell the problem with me answering ya question is that your just so much more cleverer than i am that i'm thinking i shud shut up for good. But i wont , i can't.

You know, yes , our worldly activities and pursuits are a true reflections of our spiritual state. It is a sin to pollutte the environment, shud the commandment be rewritten?. One wonders if folks who adhere to thier religions need some scriptural text to engage them in such discourses or is it just the end of the days we all just surrender too pathetically? That's emblematic of the self destructive messages i often hear sermonized , it's holy almost to give up on the world on focus on 72 virgins in heaven ....lol.....If it is so ,then i say to hell with this acopcalypse dooms day mess.
Who else but us who can save the earth, as a collective responsibility placed upon us by God, i say yeah this a question we all must come to a some sort of agreement with. If we can all sit down and not chew each other's head off that is........lol........
Unfortunately it's out of my working class hands to decide and take substansive actions, my voice is lost in the noise. Don't ya feel the same way? :-)

Save our Mother Earth YES! It should be priority one, unfortunately, for way too many it's not! : (
However, you must understand that there are up and coming students in the engineering fields that are very concerned with the issues at hand.
But we face opportunity costs with each currently available option. Solar...back-up batteries, Wind...migrating birds, Dams...more environmental issues, and it goes on and on.
One of the problems we face right now is the lack of sufficient funding for research in the field.
Until the public and the politicians make our future survival a priority, and start funding for research & developement we're stuck in a rut!
Maybe if the public realized how much nuclear waste we are producing, and understood the reality of radioactive half life, then they would listen to the fact that it is toxic for 2000 years, and we are storing it in containers that will only safely keep it for about 35 years. The ongoing cost of using nuclear power safely, is staggering!
We are ready to take on these challenges, but the jobs have to be there in order to get on the ball!
