Read this:
I found a new personal doctor and a new lung doctor. I asked the doctor to cut out some of my medications and he cut them down 9 from 20. Don'tt smoke!
I researched heart disease, signed up for the Heart Association newsletter and Lung Association newsletter. I began eating a heart-healthy diet and started a Pulmonary Rehabilitation class at my local hospital.
Last week I was able to exercise 12 minutes without a drop in my oxygen and I needed NO supplemental oxygen. I now only need oxygen when I'm sleeping.
And I can walk to the mailbox again and shop without the motorized carts!!!!
We have a 4 day trip to Disneyland planned for March with the entire family and I am hoping to not need a wheelchair by then.
We are going on a cruise next year to Alaska and I plan to be able to walk the decks without a wheelchair, too!
I can sing and whistle, and I don't smoke!
I may not be able to ever get rid of this disease but trust me, I've sure slowed it down and I plan to live every day of my life now!
Realize that smoking is doing nothing but killing you. I hope you quit before you smoke that "magical" killer cigarette.
Good luck to you, you are in my prayers.

No one can actually tell you how much time you have left. Too many factors go into making such a statement.
Take care of yourself, follow your pulmonary and family doctor's prescribed course of treatment, stay as active as possible, maintain a healthy diet, and most importantly remain positive.
I was diagnosed with COPD 3 years ago and take every day as a blessing. Don't worry about "the end", focus on each and every day!

The best website to read about that is webmd.com. An old friend of mine was in medical school and researched on this all the time.
With the medical technology and if u take care of yourself , you could live quite a bit longer.
God bless u ! get well wishes from me

u should consult your personal physician for the answer to this. While we as nurses, nursing assistants, and other health care professionals may log onto this site; nobody is more capable of giving you a proper diagnosis like your personal health care physician. He/she knows your body, the medications you are on, and how your disease is effectively responding or not to treatments......Don't put your life into the hands of people who only know you by a screen name....You deserve much better than that....If you don't have medical insurance or a doctor, please consult your local health department, explain your situation, and ask them to direct you to the necessary agency to help you.............Best wishes.........................
