I had HPV and I was a virgin when I got with my husband, but he wasn't, so I obviously got it from him. HPV is a sexually transmitted disease that can lie dormant in the body for years without ever showing up. It's rather common these days. All STD's are either contracted through intercourse or sharing needles or getting infected blood into an open wound. I would consult a doctor/gynocologist for an expert's opinion. If you check out webmd and do a search for HPV (Human Papillomavirus), they have a lot of helpful information.

Depends on whether you've done "everything but" or nothing at all. If you've had oral sex, you could transmit the virus, theorectically.

Pregnant women can transmit the virus to their babies. I'm not sure though if they're passing the virus from their blood stream to the babies' or if the babies are coming into contact with the virus (genital warts) during childbirth. If it's the latter, then that would confirm that just touching an infected area could infect you too.
