i'm having a bar-b-cue...what's better to bar-b-cue....chicken or beef? what other foods should i have?

Both are good. My preference for beef is a little stronger.

Why not try Bratwurst. I grill Johnsonville Brats, the ones called "Beer and Brats", and they're great. Just thinking about them makes me drool. Remember to use tongs to turn them so you don't jab them with a fork and lose the juice. Saute some onion in butter to go along with them. When done, put those boys in some nice rolls, add the sauted onion and some good ol' mustard. Add some sauerkraut on your second one. Betcha can't eat just one of these, gotta go back for more.

Chicken is cheaper, but it depends on what your guests like, or what you prefer to eat.
If you are unsure what each of your guests will eat, I suggest cooking both.
Corn on the cob, potato salad, baked beans, texas toast or garlic bread, fresh melons, and plenty of sweet tea!
How about some jello shooters for the adults to enjoy while the food is cooking?

both are the same to me! just depends on what you are hungry for!
i would have the following:
1. hot wings
2. beef tenderloin
3. grilled corn on the cobb wrapped in aluminum foil
4. bake potato's or potato salad
5. cole slaw
6. pasta salad
7. vegetables kabobs (marinated in italian dressing then lightly season vegetables with cavendar's greek seasoning when you remove from the marinate) consisting of sliced purple onion, squash, mushrooms (optional), sliced red bell pepper, and green bell pepper.
8. deviled eggs
9. sliced tomato's, sliced cucumbers, and sliced red purple onion in with italian dressing and topped with croutons
10. bake beans
11. texas toast
12. homemade ice cream
13. ice tea (lemon, sugar, and sweet and low), lemonade, coke, diet coke, sprite, wine, and cold beer. pina colada's, screw drivers, bloody mary's, and mimosa's would be fun if you drink!

corn on the cob , cantaloupe,watermelon,baked beans,hooter lol and a bottle of mad dog. hee hee

ohh yeah i'd say chicken would be best on the grill instead of beef.hey don't forget HERR'S >brand name

Beef...

BAKED BEANS:
2 large cans Campbell's Beans Pork and Beans
2/3 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon mustard
2 teaspoons baking soda (optional)
Mix all ingredients. Taste if sweet enough. If not, add more brown sugar.
Top with 4 to 6 pieces of bacon.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 2 hrs.

KATIE's FUMI SALAD:
8 tablespoons almonds, slivered - toasted
8 tablespoons sesame seeds - toasted
1 head of cabbage, chopped
6 green onions, sliced
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 Tablespoons Accent Seasoning
6 Tablespoons rice vinegar
3/4 cup salad oil
2 packages of Top Ramen
(NOODLES ONLY - crumbled)
Toast nuts and seeds in oven until browned.
Set aside to cool. Chop cabbage and slice onions; mix together in bowl. Combine sugar, salt, pepper and Accent Seasoning together and drudge into cabbage. Mix vinegar and oil together adding to cabbage and stir. Crumble Ramen noodles adding to cabbage along with the nuts and seeds. Stir. Refrigerate.

GRILLED CORN ON THE COB:
8 ears corn
4 fresh limes, quartered
Garlic butter, recipe follows
1/2 cup grated cotija cheese
2 tablespoons chopped chives, for garnish
Preheat grill to medium. Peel back the husks of the corn without removing them. Remove the silks and recover the corn with the husk. Soak in large bowl of cold water for 30 minutes.
Remove corn from water and shake off excess.
Place the corn on the grill, close the cover and grill for 15 to 20 minutes. Unwrap corn and brush with the garlic butter. Sprinkle with the cotija cheese and squeeze with lime. Sprinkle with chopped chives, to garnish.

Garlic Butter:
2 sticks unsalted butter, slightly softened
8 cloves garlic, peeled and coarsely chopped
1/4 habanero pepper, seeded
1/4 bunch fresh chives
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Combine butter, garlic, habanero, and chives in a food processor and process until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside until ready to use.

If you're referring to steaks they're much easier. They can handle high heat.
