I really like yer name, man, but because you ask a good question, I'll pass on the jokes (fer now....)
As others have so well put it, "Taco Bell" is a purely American chain to start with and actually has nothing to do with Mexico. Second, what you people in the US call a "taco" is not actually, technically a "taco" down here in Mexico.
With the hard toasted shell, it would be called a "tostada" (a toasted corn tortilla with ingredints piled on top.) A taco is a soft corn or flour tortilla, filled with ingredients, topped with hot sauce and eaten rolled up or folded in two.
One of the main ingredients for a "Taco Bell" taco, cheddar cheese, is almost impossible to even find in Mexico City, unless you check out "Sam's Club." What we up north call "taco spice," you can't buy anywhere in Mexico City. I used to have to bring it back with me from Canada until I finally learned to make a good one here!
After some research, I have discovered that most of what Americans know as "Mexican Food" is very regional from only the very northern border areas, often known as "Tex-Mex" or "Tejano" (don't get me wrong - every time I am in Texas I love to pig out on Tex-Mex food!)
The good news is that as you travel farther south in Mexico, there are even more wonderful things to discover, like tacos of "carnitas," tacos "al Pastor," tacos of "barbacoa." tacos of "guisado."
One taco chain in Mexico City that is really freakin' good and found at many shopping malls is called "Taco Inn."
(Of course here in Mexico City, you can also find some of the best hamburgers on the Earth, too. Try "Ruben's" or "60s, 60s")

I've never been to Mexico City, but I can only assume that if you're in Mexico, you'd want AUTHENTIC tacos... Not sure that a Taco Bell would yield much business over there...

Mexico City (Ciudad de México) could be the capital of Mexico and an amazing town surrounded by mighty mountain ranges. To see this city you are able to choose the very best option hotelbye . The city's area is definitely breathtaking. Two wonderful snow-covered volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, tower over it with their more of 5,000 meters. Mexico City also preserves countless pointers of their past and those are issues that entice the tourists. The whipping heart of Mexico City is Zócalo - the Plaza de la Constitución (Constitution Square) - where the country's first structure was proclaimed in 1813 and now could be one of the very visited host to Mexico City because it's one of many world's biggest squares. In Mexico City you can also visit: the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Templo Mayor.

i've noticed that too!!!! i don't think Taco Bell would make much of a business, taco bell isn't mexican food at all, and i doubt the people of mexico would buy any food at Taco Bell, they'd head to a McDonalds or burger king.

Taco Bell is not authentic mexican food. It is catered to American tastes. Hamburgers and Pizza would sell in Mexico and other countries because it is different.
