using the Scoville Unit Heat Scale

habanero is 100,000 to 350,000 units
and chiltepin is 50,000 to 100,000 units

so habanero is much hotter

The thai chiltepin is rated at 100,000 Scoville units of hotness.

The Habanero at 200,000 to 285,000 Scoville.

So the Habanero has it!

the thai chilis are nowhere near as hot but all their heat hits you at once as where a habanero takes forever to go away, longets time i waited for a thai chili was 5 minutes, my longest wait time for a habanero was 8 1/2 minutes

Oh ma gosh! Habanero. Have you tried the "atomic" level of hotness at Wing It? They soak those chicken wings in habanero oil and spices. I have only eaten one whole wing of it. Wheww! I can actually eat a whole dish of Thai Chiltepin.

It's getting hot here!

Habaneros are so far down the scale that nothing else is close in intensity.

Habanero, grown in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. If this variety is grown anywhere else it wont be as hot.
