Some famous Peranakan delicacies include:

Ayam Buah Keluak
Bawan Kepiting
Babi Pongteh
Chendol

I would recommend trying the Peranakan buffet at Ellenborough Market Cafe in Swissotel Merchant Court. They have a nice spread of peranakan and international flavours and a to-die-for Durian Pengkat.

You can find lots of the Kueh or little cakes/confectionary sold widely. There is a bakery chain of Bengawan Solo which sells Peranakan cakes in shopping malls. Of course Peranakan curry is always available, and there are Peranakan themed restaurants, selling gula melaka desserts, curries, and other Peranakan food.

perankan food refers to a special kind of cuisine found in Malaysia and Singapore. The origins of this food came from the cross-marriage between native malays and ethnic chinese when chinese arrived at the malay peninsula centuries ago. This led to a unique cross over between chinese and malay cooking. Decendents from these settlers are called papa ( guys) and nonya (women)
