If vegetarians OR meat eaters persecute people who eat differently than they do, it's all wrong. Eat the way you want. It's no one's business how anyone else eats.
If people are loud mouths and try to preach at / bug / influence others to eat like they do, that's all wrong, too.

Everyone should eat the way they want. Don't answer questions in this section if you are not into vegetarianism. Eat whatever, It's your right to do so.

I think they probably switch between answering here and in the "Religion & Spirituality" section. Ignore them. They have small lives and bad complexions!

Some people are just idiots, whether they eat meat or vegetables only. They think that because they do it a certain way, so should you.

As long as their not in my face as well, I don't care what people eat. But I don't want people who won't eat meat for purely moral reasons (and not religious or health reasons) telling me about stuff like that.

Conversely, I don't think meat eating people should rub it in the vegetarian's faces either.

I'm sorry that people ridicule you, If it makes you feel any better, I'm not a vegetarian, I love steak too much! I do know that it is wrong to eat animals, though. But I respect vegetarians for standing up for what they believe in, and I'd be a vegetarian if I had the willpower!

I don't get it either. I've been veg for 20 years and I've never tried to preach it to anyone. If you engage me in conversation or debate about it, you'll get my honest answers. But I've never tried to judge meat eaters for not making the same choice I made.

I have experienced some hostility personally, but never the kind of vitriol that *some* people come here to spew at us. I guess the anonymity of the internet allows some people to act out their hostilities in ways they wouldn't normally do in person.

It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

People tend to respond negatively to things that are different than they are. They internalize it and take it as a threat. As if they would somehow be forced to be vegetarian.

That's probably why so many small minded people hate gays.

I never heard of anyone's attacking any vegetarians' rights. Ridiculing them a little bit, maybe.

your right, I don't care what someone else eats. But they will have to pry my hamburger from my cold dead fingers before I'll eat a turfburger.

no really i don't care so long as they aren't parading around showing pics of chopped up animals and such.
