In the last century people often acquired hear murmurs from rheumatic fever. Also, a baby can be born with a heart murmur, which usually is just a valve closing either 1-2 behind, or in front of the others. Usually, a child born with a hear murmu "outgrows" it.
What you are describing sounds like an awareness of your heart beating, with a name that at present, eludes me. Hopefully you have a regular MD. that you can talk with about your concerns. If not, find one and make an appointment.

It feels wierd. I've had a heart murmur all my life. I should be used to it, but it still feels wierd when it skips a beat or flutters. It may happen to me once or twice a month, sometimes less sometimes more.
The dr said mine was a "working" heart murmur. They orgionally thought I'd grow out of it, but it's still around.
What a heart murmur is, is when the heart valve isn't totally shutting correctly. This allows blood to flow through that shouldn't be.
If you're heart is pumping more harder, that doesn't really seem like a murmur to me.
Best thing I can tell you is to go to your dr. Have them do a simple EKG and make sure things are working correctly.

Heart pumping too hard (palpitation) can be caused by anxiety or increased thyroid hormone. Heart murmur is an abnormal heart sound commonly caused by a tiny opening in your heart (born with it) or an incomplete closure of a heart valve. Palpitation and heart murmur are completely different issues!! May be a visit to a Doc is indicated! Best wishes!!

Look up Heart Murmur on the internet. You don't have a heart murmur (most likely) your cardiologist would have to diagnose something like that. What you are talking about is just your heart pumping faster. It can happen when you are excited, exerting alot of energy, scared, turned on...ect. It is due to a hormonal release from an external or internal stimulation.

This happened to me and I even went to a cardiologist because of it. They told me it was heart palpatations. It is normal. It can be caused by stress or could be your body's reaction to medication that you take (antidepressants) To be sure though, I would go to the doctor and get a thorough examination. They ran all sorts of tests on me. They did a stress test and some sort of ultrasound thing that I forget what they called it. Does it also feel like your heart is skipping beats?

I get them once in awhile. It is worse if you take alot of stimulents....like caffiene or smoking. I usually notice mine at night when that is all I have to concentrate on, while I am lying in bed. So avoid caffiene at night. Ifyou feel like it is serious, go to a doctor, they may want to put you on an Event Monitor just to make sure you are ok.
