The land of Canaan, which you call Palestine, was give to Abraham by God through a "Royal Grant Deed." (Genesis 13:15, 15:8ff, and 17:8) Further, after Israel left Egypt, and wandered in the desert for forty years, they launched a campaign to subdue the nations that lived there (See Joshua).

Except for the exile in the northern, and later southern kingdoms, the land of Canaan was recognized as Israelite territory. Then, after the Romans sacked Jerusalem in 70 A.D., the most recent diaspora occurred, scattering most of the Israelites to other nations. The Romans then named the region "Palestine," as a slur to the remaining residents, twisting the original word "Philistine."

There is some excellent research and history at the website listed in the sources section that goes even deeper than I can here. Read it, it will open your eyes.

I am not saying that everything Israel does or has done is always right. But, please consider the other side of the issue also.

1. Abraham was given the land as an "eternal inheritance" for him and his offspring. Genesis 13:15, 15:8ff, and 17:8
2. The nation of Israel is 1/10 of 1% the size of all of the Arab world. Why must the arabs force the Jews out of their birthright?
3. Why was the nation of Jordan established? Yes, to become a refuge and home for the Palestinians.
4. Why should Israel not have the right to defend itself against terrorists like hamas and Hizbollah?
5. Why can't the Arab League of 21 nations defeat Israel. Because if you ''curse Israel you will be cursed" (Genesis)
6. Palestine was the name of the Holy land from Roman times as a punishment to the Jews. It was never an accurate assessment or titling of the land.
7.Finally and most controversial, is the fact that the Palestinians are not the descendants of the Philistines and therefore have no claim on the land and should not force the world to accept this bogus claim.

Check your facts first. The disputed land, formerly Transjordan was owned by Britain for the most part and a few private land owners from Egypt and other areas. Britain encouraged the private landowners and they agreed to give the land to the United Nations to create a homeland for the Jews that were sent back to Africa by a Papal decree of 1543. There were Jewish settlements. There were Palestinian nomads and there were and are Hebrew nomads in the Masada regions. Under the provisions of the Balfour Declaration of November 2nd 1917, the Arabs were assigned one part--now called Jordan and the Jews were assigned part of what we call Israel today. The Jordanians asked the Palestinians to join them in a thrust to push Israel in the sea. However, in 1967, instead of that happening, Israel won and got more land. Israel invited the Palestinians that joined with Jordan to return. Jordan promised the Paletinains that they would regroup. In the meantime, Jordan cut her own peace deal with Israel. She defined her own border with Israel and left the Palestinians out of the equation. All the Arabic neighbours did the same thing. While the Palestinians have been getting rejection from the Jordanians, Jews arrived after World War 2 and built up Israel. My question: on what grounds should Israel surrender land to the Palestinians? The portion that Jordan got was for the specific purpose of providing a homeland for them and the Palestinians. If the Palestinians could not get along with the Jordanians, how in blazes do you expect them to get along with the Israelites? Israel should have decreed since 1967. Where you go, take your mosque and the matter would have been settled. What would you want to have your second holies holy shrine on a land that was forbidden for Muslims to pray facing? Since imams discovered that God said that His true foundation is in Zion, do they believe that you can establish a carnal foundation on God's holy ground? After all, remember there was a church by the name of St. Catherine’s on the same site? Hear the word from this prophet: AS LONG AS THE LORD GOD ESTABLISHES A SPIRIITUAL FOUNDATION ON ANY TERRITORY, ANY MAN, INSTITUTION OR BEAST THAT DARES TO CHALLLENGE GOD'S AUTHORITY WILL BE DEFEATED. Worse, if you establish a Philistine name--impliedly covenanting to the ancient spirits of Baal etc. etc.

I don't think he's coming. It's up to us,or at least the UN to find a solution. First they have to manage to bring some control to the situation. The situation demonstrates perfectly the terrible damage religion does.

If he does come I'm afarid we might find he's not really the Messiah but just a very naughty boy, as was discovered in 'The Life of Brian'.
