Crispy Cheese Poppers

1 fresh jalapeño pepper, stem and seeds removed, chopped
1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
18 wonton wrappers (from a 16-ounce package), thawed if frozen
1-1/2 cups vegetable oil

In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, chopped jalapeño, and Parmesan cheese; mix well. Place a wonton wrapper on a flat work surface. Dip your fingers in a small bowl of water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Place about 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center of the wrapper and fold diagonally to form a triangle. Seal the edges firmly with your fingers. Continue with the remaining cheese mixture and wonton wrappers. In a large deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil until hot but not smoking. Fry the wontons in batches for 30 seconds per side, or until crisp and golden. Remove with a slotted spoon to drain on a paper towel-lined platter. Serve immediately.

Ribbon sandwiches are always fun. Use 3 different fillings, like egg salad, tuna salad and crab salad. Make the egg salad very yellow with a little curry or saffron. Make the tuna salad very pink with a little beet juice. And make the crab salad very green with some fresh parsley in the mix.

Cut the crusts off all 4 sides of a loaf of fresh (unsliced) bread. Cut lengthwise into 4 "slices". Lay the first down on the tray and butter it and sprinkle with a little salt. Evenly spread on the crab salad (about 1/2 inch thick). Then put on the next buttered slice of bread and the egg salad. Repeat with the bread and tuna salad. Butter both sides of the last piece and put on top. Square up the reassembled loaf, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour.

While that's chilling, mix together 8 ounces cream cheese, 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 tsp salt and blend til well mixed. Then whip with your mixer until light and fluffy (can add a little milk if needed).

"Frost the chilled sandwich loaf with the cream cheese mix. Recover with the plastic wrap and chill a few more hours or overnight. Decorate just before serving with a few curls of lemon or green onion.

Monkey Bread is a good finger food for parties. It is a cake but made in little tear apart pieces. It's gooey and sweet!

Monkey Bread
4 regular cans biscuits
1 stick of butter
3 Tbs cinnamon
1 cup sugar
1 bundt pan

Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a medium sized bowl.
Cut each biscuit circle into 4 pie shaped pieces. As you cut pieces,
Place them in the bowl of cinnamon/sugar and coat them with it.
Next, put the coated pieces in an ungreased bundt pan.

Heat butter in a pan until melted. Add remaining sugar and cinnamon
mixture. Heat and stir until it starts to get bubbly and the sugar melts.
Remove from heat and pour mixture over bread pieces in the bundt pan.

Bake on 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until top edges start to turn golden brown and will pull away when gently touched. (Be sure not to pull any pieces
completely off though.)

Easy to make and everyone loves it!
So easy, a Monkey could do it!

Junk food is always applicable, but I like to see some veggies like broccoli, carrots, celery, etc. with ranch or bleu cheese dressing. Even more appetizing than veggies to me is fruit. Strawberries, canteloupe, watermelon, honeydew, and especially fresh cut pineapple!

For something with more substance, you could get those little wieners that come in a pack and cook them in barbeque sauce. Small sandwiches like ham & cheese, turkey, etc. You could even do a Subway platter, but prepare to shell out some chingaling.

My grandmother makes a delicious punch bowl cake. I don't have the recipe handy, but it consists of yellow cake, cherries, cool whip, maybe some more fruits, topped with nuts. It's a layered cake and is best if eaten in 3 days or less, so it's good for parties since it takes up an entire punch bowl.

If you don't like that, use your punch bowl for, well, punch!

You sound as though you believe that 50 is an old age? Anything but. At age 50 people are more sophiscated than at 25 or 30 and appreciate the finer horsedeuvers served at at party. You may wish to do a light buffet with three different main courses i.e. a special, pieced chicken dish, a seafood gumbo served with rice and a beef dish such as beef curry. Several vegitable sides, one or two carb dishes such as scalloped potatoes, garllic mashed potatoes, etc. Be sure to use warming dishes with candles to keep things appetising. For snacks, French bread sliced with a pate' or a homemade spread such as crab buter.

Here's some easy & yummy stuff!!! :)

My mom makes the best punch using 7-up, orange Hi-C and orange sherbet! If you freeze the base of a jello mold using hi-c (to make a ring) and put it in the punch bowl, it help stay cold too. Punchy and frothy :) Sooo good!

For food, there is an Eclair cake: you simply line a 9x13 pan with chocolate graham crackers. mix coolwhip and vanilla pudding together and layer the two a few times. Then pour chocolate syrup over the top and refrigerate it for a few hours!

Enjoy!!! :)

Make your own pizza bagels, chips and dip or salsa, punch, maybe some wings with celery and ranch. You have to have soda, those that do drink (alcohol) will find it cool to open up a can and pretend. Little appetizers. Have fun!

I just had a party a couple weeks ago, and everything we had was party and snack food. Cheese dip is really good (Velveeta, salsa, hamburger meat), and little smokies, ranch dip with vegetables and chips, and Tex-Mex dip (layers of beans, sour cream mixed with taco seasoning, green onions, and shredded cheese).
