You must eat healthy foods such as salads and vegetables and lean meats. avoid sugary junk foods and other excessive over eating of breads, cakes,pies etc.
You should take a vitamin every day and extra vitamin c and B-100 complex vitamin. Also the mineral chromium is very important to take as this mineral stabilises blood sugar levels and prevents excessive production of insulin caused by an imbalance to the blood-sugar level in your body. You must maintain a healthy weight and not be overweight. Also proper exercise and physical activity will help maintain proper blood-sugar levels. This is the easiest and most natural way to prevent diabetes. This has been my knowledge of reading on the subject. You can also do an engine search on the nature of diabetes. You will find more information that way.
Thank you for reading this.

Pre-diabetes is a serious medical condition that can be treated. The good news is that the recently completed Diabetes Prevention Program study conclusively showed that people with pre-diabetes can prevent the development of type 2 diabetes by making changes in their diet and increasing their level of physical activity. They may even be able to return their blood glucose levels to the normal range.
While the DPP also showed that some medications may delay the development of diabetes, diet and exercise worked better. Just 30 minutes a day of moderate physical activity, coupled with a 5-10% reduction in body weight, produced a 58% reduction in diabetes.
The American Diabetes Association is developing materials that will help people understand their risks for pre-diabetes and what they can do to halt the progression to diabetes and even to, "turn back the clock." In the meantime, ADA has a wealth of resources for people with diabetes or at risk for diabetes that can be of use to people interested in pre-diabetes.

To avoid type II diabetes:
1) Weight control and exercise.
2) Avoid eating too much very sugary food.
3) Take a tablespoon of vinegar before each meal (for real). Or a vinegar pill.
4) Monitor your glucose level occasionally.
5) Avoid white rice and white bread

Eat a good diet with plenty of fruits and veggies. Drink plenty of water. Keep your weight in normal range. Today studies show waist size is a greater predictor of future health problems such as diabetes. People with waist sizes of 35 inches.or more are at great risk. Exercise regularly. Type one diabetes has more of a hereditary factor. Type 2 is generally from years of poor diet, being overweight, and being sedentary.I hope this helped.

You can't avoid type I diabetes, but you can decrease your risk of type II diabetes by eating a healthy diet, excersizing, and maintaining a good weight. Even so, if you have a genetic predisposition, you may have the condition anyway.

I don't think anybody can absolutely avoid developing Diabetes.
However, one can lower their risk factors for getting it by taking a number of steps to reduce one's chances of developing the disease:
a. Keep a healthy weight for your body type;
b. Eat three to four small but balanced meals in a day;
c. Maintain at least 30 minutes a day of physical activity;
d. Watch your daily calorie, carb and sugar intake; and
e. Get regular physical check-ups.

Definitly exercise and a good diet. It also helps to make sure that you stay away from really sugary foods. Not all the time, but don't eat a ton of them. If it runs in your family you can be tested from time to time to see if your at risk. It also helps to maintain a healthy weight and to make sure that your healthy and don't smoke. The older you are the more your risk ends up increasing. Just watch your self and if you think that something is wrong go and see a doctor.
