Every color is a specific wavelength of light. A blind person can learn about them as an intellectual, scientific exercise, but he cannot have the emotional connection to them that those of us who can see them have. We can talk about it, but we cannot give him the experience.

people blind people actual p.c.. up an precise representation of colour from language. I.e. oftentimes, they could precise classification colorations as warmth (i.e. purple) or chilly (i.e. blue), or maybe what colorations have a tendency to verify and what doesn't. There are artists (or a minimal of one) who has been blind from start who paints - his theory of colour and structure are general. I.e. he knows the sea is blue, the sky is lighter blue etc... inspite of the actuality that his portray at the on the spot are not truly accurate (if very favourite and promote nicely...). even if, they don't easily see colour, or comprehend it truly accurate. additionally they don't see of their desires (although they nonetheless dream) because they have not in any respect had that assistance. they have the precis assistance on colour, yet not the subjective. those who grow to be blind later in existence of direction nonetheless see in desires and obviously nonetheless comprehend colour

To explain color to a totally blind (as opposed to color blind) person you might use an analogy, such as comparing it to sound. Those of us with hearing can sense different frequencies of sound within the range humans can perceive, can distinguish them, learn what they mean, and can judge distance and direction of the sound because we have two ears. Sight is much the same. Those of us with sight can sense different wavelengths of light within the range humans can perceive, can distinguish them, learn what they mean, and can judge distance and direction of the light because we have two eyes.

Bats uses sound waves bouncing off objects to tell where obstacles are and navigate around them. We use light the same way. We know where things are around us because our brains study the light bouncing off objects and interpret it to tell us where things are around us.
