♡Definitely a cup and saucer especially for an important guest! It's the best way. I always serve my guests tea or coffee in a cup and saucer. But if you've only got a mug, go with your best or borrow, go out a get cups and saucers.♡

Depends. If the visitor is an important and respected one then I would prefer cup and saucer. If he is a friend who is an informal visitor then a mug of tea in the garden is best.

The proper thing to do if the person that is coming to visit you is important. Serve using china tea or coffee cup and saucer. There is a difference between tea cups and coffee cups.

Depends on my mood/what's my motivation.
Since I want someone important to feel special,I would serve them a mug of what ever. So they would feel accepted and that they can be themselves with us.
I always want my friends to feel special so I get out the reallly nice stuff because we deserve it. ;)
