angina is also known as chest pain. however not all chest pains mean heart attack -- it could be other things as well, including panic and anxiety.

to know what condition you have.. you have to have a series of tests done -- blood test, ECG's -- everything.

if you go to your doctor and explain all these and is not willing to do tests on you (or recommend you to a cardiologist) -- seek second opinion.

It's chest pain. I would be very, very surprised to hear that a 15 year old girl is suffering from angina, as it tends to be caused by atherosclerosis and usually appears in the elderly or people with a history of CHF or CAD. Has your doctor diagnosed you as having this?

There are a couple different types, so here are some links with really good information.

This first one includes symptoms, different types, who's at risk for angina, and prevention tips.

angina pectoris is a condition wherein a patient . chest bone, radiating to the region of the heart and to the left arm, precipitated usually by physical exertion and relieved on resting. angina means strangulation. pectoris means of the chest. this is a manifestion of atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries.the pain usually lasts only a few minutes, but the patient overestimates the duration. such attacks generally subside after a minute or two if the patient rest s immediately when the pain begins. the underlying cause of angina pectoris is the narrowing of the coronary arteries due to atherosclerosis. lesser blood flows through them and hence less oxygen is supplied to the heart muscle.ECG, treadmill test are required to evaluate it. a patient who gets attacks of angina pectoris is more liable to get heart attack and minor or major brain strokes.some patients have survived up to 20 years.so it always better to consult a qualified cardiologist and take medicines strictly so that complications can be avoided. do not make any delay. and also not believe the words of quacks whose wrong advice lead to some severe problems.

Angina is caused by lack of oxygen supply to the heart muscle. It is caused by some plaque formed by atheromas (usually can be detected via laboratory test of cholesterol LDL level). If the LDL level is high, you are in a high risk of this. The symptom is chest pain, usually called heart burn because sometimes it feels hot, and the unique sign is that the pain expanding to the left shoulder, left arm, and neck. If you experience this, please contact the nearest doctor/physician to make a consultation. Or if you feel it emergency, just go directly to the hospital.
