For the past 7 months, I've been having, I guess you could say "heart spazzes". I brought it up woth my doctor and he is completely baffled by what it could be. He didnt give me any medication. He only told me that if it gets worse to call 9-1-1 and go to the emergency room ASAP. Does anyone know what this might be? This is a serious question and I would appreciate it if there would be serious answers to go along with it. I would like to know what the heck is wrong with me...

It usually happens at night for me if that has anything to do with it. Its like a tight, sharp pain that goes across my chest and it makes it hard to breath and sometimes they last for a good 5-8 minutes. It's really painful and it takes a lot of energy to just try to breathe during the bad ones.

Please get a second opinion, preferably by a cardiologist. It might be a number of things, most of which are harmless. But there is a reason for this.
I had it too, when i was a teenager. Was written off as a hypochondriac for years until my heart would not stop "spazzing". It's controlled with medication now, but why wait till you're incapacitated to get an answer?

Heart spazzes could be indigestion, or anxiety, or a lot of other things.
I know that when you're suddenly in a scared state with something wrong in there that all you want to think about is getting help quickly to make it stop, but try to figure what led up to the spazz. That way, you'll have something solid to tell you r doctor.
Oh, and have your blood pressure checked. Do it now.

hm-mm heart spazzes? that is when your heart decides to turn all nerdy on you. Beware when you start falling in love with complete geeks!!!
Sorry, I just read that you want a serious answer, OK, well, if you feel you are having heart spasms, you could always seek a specialist. Also look up heart related illnesses like heart arrhythmia or heart palpitations on the Internet. Unfortunately, I don't think there is really anything you can do about it. Change your diet perhaps, cut down on your caffeine intake.

Don't use the term heart spazzes, but describe the condition to your doctor and say whether this happens when you are exerting yourself in exercise or not, whether this happens at a certain time of the day.
The reason for this is the doctor will want to see what is going on and will want to see you when one of these is happening.
It is true that the doctor may not know what is the cause of this, but he should refer you to someone who does. If your doctor won't listen to you, find one who will.

I have this happen regularily. It can be caused by high blood pressure, and makes your heart temporarily freak out.. you heart will start beating harder and faster and it may become difficult to breath for a few seconds to a few minutes, but it generally passes on its own. This is also common in people with heart murmurs.

Ok, first I must make fun of you: If your doctor doesn't know why on Earth would you turn to a bunch of teenagers and random strangers who miss-spell "fart" for a heart condition diagnosis. Sheesh.
Second, it may be a heart flutter, murmur, or an anxiety attack.
Lastly, go to a cardiologist, or find a new doctor.

i used to have something kinda like that. it kinda felt like my heart was fluttering? (idk what to call it!). well i brought it up with my doctor as well, and they had me on a heart monitor for a while to see what was up. but they still didn't know what the heck was up. well it's been a few years now and they have gone away for the most part. i still have them every once in a while. no clue what's wrong but at least it isn't anything serious. so i dont know what's wrong with you. when i had it i found something that was pretty close to what i was having but i dont think it was it. it's called angina. i suggest going to webmd.com they have a symptom checker and that might help you out. well good luck! hope you find out what you have!
