wow! it's been 2 years since i've last studied the circulatory system.
if im not mistaken, platelet aggregation is like "clot" and collagen has something to do with this because they form fibers which help solidify the blood in an attempt to form a clot.

Platelets always seem to be made out to be bad guys. They have many functions - one of which is to help us stop bleeding. When damage to a blood vessel occurs, the platelets aggregate and adhere to the site. A good thing to happen when you get cut or hurt. Aortic aneurysms might be a good example to demonstrate collagen synthesis (abnormal stretching or damage to the aorta) with subsequent platelet aggregation and plaque build up. This process occurs in vivo. I haven't heard of any "reliable" in vitro platelet aggregation tests.
