It's not a vaccine for HPV, it's only a vaccine for four types that cause cervical cancer and genital warts. Cervical cancer is caused by a few types of HPV, but not all! Others cause genital warts and even rectal cancer.

I read in the link you provide that 300,000 woman die a year from cervical cancer! That's crazy, I had no idea! I was diagnosed with cervical cancer from HPV about a year ago. Luckily I caught it in time and was able to treat it.

It's too bad it doesn't help people who already have it, but I'm glad they found something to prevent it!

yes the national institute of health says the vaccine will be available real soon and it recommended for females between the ages of 9-29 years of age. i'm a male but i keep up with my current events. over 50,000 women annually die from cervical cancer and this is a blessing. that number is staggering and it is time for people men and women alike to start getting tested. lot's of men are under the impression they can't contract hpv but what is more scary is the fact that some never even heard of it. hpv is the #1 sexually transmitted disease in this country today.
people let's open our eyes, get tested and start living a better life for ourselves and set the standards for the newer generation to come.

Yes, it's called Gardasil. The FDA approved it very recently (June 8th) as a preventitive vaccine for cervical cancer and other clinical diseases caused by HPV.
