Part of being in a family is that you share responsibilities. If they are doing the preparation and cooking then it is only fair that you are doing the clean up.
That is part of co-existing.
In my house everyone does something!!!

That was the arrangement when I was living with my mom as an adult - if I cooked, she washed! Set up a schedule if it really bothers you. Do the dishes have to be done to cook the next meal? If not, why not just once a day?

Depends... because they cook once and you wash 3+. But how many dishes do you do? Does it include the pots & pans also?
I would say they should clean as they cook and you do the dishes as in plates, silverware, clean up the table. Package the left overs.
I know some really good cooks, but they use every utensil, pot and pan, that the kitchen could hold. If they do that and leave it for you to clean up. THAT, I think it's unfair.

well, when they decided to cook, leave the house, and don't ever eat there. I have to wash dishes like 5x a day because i have 3 children, well 2 children and a husband. But the point is, I have to cook, wash dishes, and clean the house all by myself.

Who the hell are you? Cinderella? No, it's not okay. They are part of the household and they should do their part around the house.
Unless it's agreed upon ("hey you cook tonight and I'll wash dishes"), it should be a shared process.

Yes. Cooking is a lot of work. I bet they shop for the food, too, as well as a lot of other things. What else do you do around the house?

well i dont know, it depends on to many things who has the jobs and pays the rent ? who buys the food, it works bests when we all do more than our fair share. if you feel abused say so, but be open to their comments because they probably don't think like you do, then think aobut it some more.

Yes it's fair. It should be your way of saying, "Thank you for cooking."
