I have with my current boyfriend for over 9 years. I recently developed a sore and tested ositive for hepes. My bf says he's been faithful and I havent cheated. I have never had any symptoms of herpes and until this test didnt know i even had it. Is is possible that this could have been dormant all this time or is my bf lying to me about his faithfulness?

I am sorry that you have herpes.
Most likely one of you had it and didn't know. That happens sometimes. The conditions have to be right for it to appear, stress, sickness etc...
It cannot be cured with Penicillin. It is a viral issue not bacterial.

It's possible that if he gives you oral, and he had a cold sore in his mouth that he passed it to you. Cold sores are caused by the same virus as Herpes. People don't really think of cold sores as herpes so he may have passed to you that way and not even have know that he had the virus. Go to herpeshelp.com for more information. This does not mean that in your nine years together that he was unfaithful. He should be tested as well.

One of you was unfaithful...Herpes does lay dormant..but it is passed thru sexual intercourse..the best thing to do is go to ur doctor so that they can get you started on penicillin and other meds....
