How come other peoples food tastes better than your own?

Question

When I am eating out or take away if I try someone elses food it seems to taste better than mine. why?

What I mean is when I taste say what my girlfriend orders or even if she orders the same it seems to taste better than my meal. Why is that?

I know what you mean, my sister always cooks the wrong way e.g. cooking meat from frozen and it always tastes lovely.

Although my husband doesn't like eating her food which is good news for me, but then again is it? it means I always have to cook.

I always prefer sandwiches from the bread shop to ones I make as well.

I agree w/ older hippie... I've noticed that too. Most people cook better than I do and restaurant food ALWAYS tastes better than home cooked.

Far off fields r always greener lol, I think you prob order the same thing for yourself a lot and then someone elses is a refreshing change.

Maybe they add more salt or pepper to their meal. Maybe it's just in your mind especially since you said that person orders the same food.

When you prepare food, you are always tasting, stirring, etc. I think we are tired of our own food by the time we sit down to eat.

I am a rubbish cook - I alwys start a recipe with the best intentions but something always seems to not quite work out!!!!!

peoples food is better than your because maybe you just dont add enough off what you need or you just dont have that wonderful touch.

because you havnt prepared or cooked it your self you relax more therefore you enjoy your food more
