I know what you mean, my sister always cooks the wrong way e.g. cooking meat from frozen and it always tastes lovely.
Although my husband doesn't like eating her food which is good news for me, but then again is it? it means I always have to cook.
I always prefer sandwiches from the bread shop to ones I make as well.

I agree w/ older hippie... I've noticed that too. Most people cook better than I do and restaurant food ALWAYS tastes better than home cooked.

When you prepare food, you are always tasting, stirring, etc. I think we are tired of our own food by the time we sit down to eat.
