I'm trying to figure out what kind of rodk this artifact was carved from. It's either a dragon or a tiger from China(I can't tell yet.) It's obviously recent, but carved by a traditionalist. The stone is polished so I can't tell what kind of surface it had. It is white with what looks like blood vessels which extend into capillaries. There are a couple of dark(black?) spots under the surface. The white area is slightly translucent. I wanted to say it was sedimentary, but the layers move in different directions. It kind of looks like marble, like the opposite of Dragon Marble. When tapped, it has a ping sound to it, like a cross between metal and glass. (I guess that would make sense, although some rocks sound flat or hollow) Would the cappilaries indicate metamorphasis? Any help???
