I've noticed that the TV news anchors all speak the same way. There are no accents...doesn't matter if it's a local station in Alabama, California, Vermont, Texas...you name it. They all sound the same. There are no regional accents.
A local anchor in Macon will sound exactly the same as one in Boston.
Are they taught this? Do they intentionally try to hide any accent they might have? They all inflect and deliver the news in the same way.
They can't all be from the same place!
