Just curious on what the general public thinks about the use of several famous philosophers on LOST. John Locke was a famous philosopher and his beliefs deviated from the theory of natural law and the right to life, liberty, and property. Similarily, the writers of LOST used John Locke's name as a character on their show. Why? Jean-Jacques Rosseau was a philospher from the Elightenment period and his philosophy is summarized best with "Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains." Again, the writers named a character after this legend- Danielle Rosseau. David Hume is another famous philosopher, often associated with skepticism and questioning Free Will. The philosopher-naming trend amongst the writers continues with the character Desmond David Hume. What is the connection between these philosophers and the character? Why do the writers do this?

Female entertainer with LONG tongue...?

I was watching a television program a looong time ago and it was about a black woman who had this long tongue...every once in a while she would hold these huge parties with other women where men would come and do things like lick crunched up candies off her body...does anyone know the name of this woman? Anyone Watch Ghost Hunters? How come they don't stay longer where they are investigating?

It isn't like ghosts come by appointment only. If it's such a passion for them, or they take it so seriously, then why leave so soon? Especially when evidence is accumulating. Does this drive anybody else nuts?
