I have a co-worker who is 47 and married with two children. His parents are rich and have already put all the money his children will need for college away. His father has access to his checking account and if the balance is getting low, he'll transfer money into it. My co-worker has no financial worries whatsoever. On the other hand, since his father has access to his account he is able to see what my co-worker is spending his money on. If he thinks my co-worker is spending money frivolously, he'll read him the riot act.
My question is...would the financial security be worth having someone watch every penny you spent..to you? It wouldn't, for me.
