My school is going to have a valentines day dance. I am in the 7th grade and it will be my first dance. My problem: the only guy I like definitely likes my best friend and while my best friend thinks I should ask him (she is fully aware he likes her) I am too shy. I have a guy friend who I'm very comfortable around and we already get teased a lot by people who think that we're boyfriend/girlfriend, which we're not. If I'm mad at him about somehting or other, I get remarks such as "Aw, lovers fighting", etc. etc. I've learned to ignore it. Would it be appropriate for me to ask this friend to the dance (oh and several of my friends think I SHOULD go out with him) as FRIENDS or would that look weird? Please help!

He told me what he wants and it's not too expensive until you include shipping. But I'd like to get him things that he needs. He runs out of clothes left and right, wearing them out at work. I'd like to get him some new jeans and some new shirts because I know that's what he needs. But what about what he wants? He wants a DVD burner. I don't know. I have a spending limit and getting the burner would definitely not go over it but I'd like to spend more on what he needs. I also want to get him something special but I don't know what.
