How come most of the movies that was nominated for the Oscars are rarely popular movies but rather movies you never heard of? I never heard of Babel until it was nominated this year. I think departed kinda suck and didnt really make a lot of money during its run at the theatre. And i doubt many people watched "the queen". Little miss sunshine didnt make that much when it came out. Im not saying that most of the nominated movies suck, im just saying the more money it made during the premere week doesnt nessecarilly mean Oscar nominated. For example, when fast and furious first came out, it made a lot of money but never get nominated. So was white chick. I'll bet you the movie 300 which made millions of dollars will not get nominated. So the popular movies "normal" people watch hardly get nominated. Why is that?
