Want to find good japanese anime ?

Im looking for any good japanese anime. I just got done watching naruto, hunter x hunter and fullmetal alchemist. I'm looking for anime that deals with some little 14 or 16 year old kid, ,searching for something or becoming something. My girlfriends likes that kind of anime plot. Under the circumstances, do you believed your parents loved you to their best abilities?

I came from a large family, and yes I do, but not to my poor sisters, whom despite of it all, have grown up ok(at least I think). I would change that as I am a parent of now speaking.
