First it was the original "Lean on me" movie with Morgan Freeman (excellent movie) then it went down the toilet w/ "Dangerous Minds" with Michelle Phifer
Then there was "The Substitute "1,2,3,..... where the teacher was kicking their tails. "Sister Act". I liked "High Schoo High" though because it made fun of the genre. Now there's "Freedom Writers" with Hilary Swank. Did I leave any other movies out? Anyway I'm so done with these type of movies. Here's how they always go (they're so predictable):
1.Teacher arrives at Ghetto High
2.Students immediately dislike the new teacher (they dont listen, throw garbage etc.)
3. Teacher finds a way to warm up to students
4. Slowly but surely the students start to accept the teacher.(crack jokes, dance with her, start to build personal relationships.)
5. One of the students has a personal problem at home that the teacher gets involved in and helps solve.
6. The students graduate Ghetto High and are off to college.
