I was on Yahoo Answers, and somebody says that you should eat beef because cows contribute to global warming. I guess it's true. So, if we should kill cows because THEY contribute to global warming, why don't we kill humans because THEY contribute to global warming, too?

BTW, I am a vegetarian, so I think it is awful that people think we should eat beef because cows contribute to global warming, when humans do, too!

well im vegitarian/vegan and if people didn't eat beef then farmers wouldnt breed cows which means there would just be enough for milk! i think it would be nice if cars didnt excist again. maybe one day our planet will be better and we can live a wonderful life.

Or we could stop breeding billions of cows for human consumption. That would probably help reduce the effects of global warming. Factory farming is THE leading cause of global warming. So not eating meat is basically the best thing you can do for the environment. And let's not kill humans, or any other animals =D

I never heard cows contributed to global warming. How do they? I totally agree with you though.

Well, I'm not a vegetarian BUT I think that even if cows contribute to global warming we still need them. They make milk and though I personally don't drink milk like having a glass of it, I depend on cows so I can have cheese and yogurt in order to get my calcium everyday. Humans do contribute to global warming but not all. Many are already aware/beginning to get educated on global warming and are doing their best to prevent it by changing the way they live in little or big ways, educating other people around them and some are starting organizations in their area to continue to remind people about this topic. If we killed humans, then there would be nobody to tell someone about global warming and nobody would be able to hear and spread the word. People around us who are constantly doing things that are unhealthy for the environment would never be able to change because they'd be dead. We are the only ones who can change this world because we can't depend on the animals to change the world b/c they are doing what we have taught them and their ancestors on. Killing humans seems to be a bit out there and not the best answer, we need to learn to work together to fix issues whether they are environmental issues or not, before we exterminate one another. Many people depend on animals for many things, some eat their meat for protien, others depend on them for calcium like myself, some people depend on them for feterlizer and other people actually raise animals and sell what they produce such as eggs, milk, meat, and other things so they can provide a living for themselves and their family.
This is just what I think.

I advocate for not killing either. But the facts show that cattle contribute more to global warming than human beings. And pollutants from internal combustion engine and manufacturing plants more than both combined.

I think you have it backwards. You shouldnt eat beef because cows contribute to global warming. Less demand creates a need for less supply. and as far as killing humans, it would certainly help with global warming, especially ones in first world countries, but that solution has proven to be unpopular so far.

what a crazy idea.
Shes right, if less beef were sold less cows would be raised.
The idea that we should put x amount of calories into a cow and then eat the cow is silly.
It takes lots less calories if you just eat the veggies or grain.

I remember that answer and I could only conclude that it came from an ignoran person who didn't understand global warming or the other facters that contribute to it. Mthane Gass is just a small contributer and the amount that cows give off is a fractin of the Methane polution.
