Ok, so I've come to the decision of being a lacto ovo vegetarian but is that good or am not really making a change.

It is up to you. Whatever turns you on baby! You can get lots of protein from soya bean. Personally as The Travelling Gourmet, I love meat in all its forms. I had some great Kangaroo tenderloin in a special Cepe mushroom sauce a few days ago specially cooked by my friend, Executive Chef of The Park Hotel group in Singapore. Enjoy! {:-)

It's great! Although there is a lot of cruelty in the dairy and egg industries, reducing animal suffering isn't an all-or-nothing deal. Vegetarians prevent the suffering of about 100 animals per year so it certainly makes a difference. Maybe once you've become comfortable being vegetarian you can work on eating fewer egg and dairy products. Good luck and see this site for lots of transition tips: http://vegcooking.com/makingthetransition.asp

every change you make counts! as said in a previous answer, you can make better choices when buying eggs and dairy.

free range eggs are usually better than free-run are better than the "factory chicken" eggs. organic is also better, and hopefully a sign that no antibiotics were used to prevent stressed animals from becoming sick.

better choices in dairy products is tricky, but organic is usually worth it.

best bet is to find a friend with a hobby farm, a cow and chickens and get your milk & eggs there... not practical for everyone, i know, but it's certainly better to know where your food is coming from!

oh also, look out for cheese that contains rennet, as this is an meat industry byproduct!

it's impossible to be a "perfect" vegetarian or vegan, so just do what's right for you, right now.

Well, any reduction in animal foods is a good thing. Sadly, the dairy and egg industries are the cruelest, so please try to find less cruelly produced milk and eggs and consume as little of them as possible.

And I will say you have to do what is right for you, and if this seems best for you, then do that.

Go vegan. If you are going to do something, always be the best!!! Vegetarians are nothing but folks who are afraid of commitment.

Anything that you do is better than doing nothing.
