Weight loss isn't a normally a side effect of Norvasc. I work in a pharmacy and it isn't a complaint I have ever heard nor have I heard the pharmacist tell a patient this a side effect. Listed below are the side effects :

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
More common

* Swelling of ankles or feet

Less common

* Dizziness
* Pounding heartbeat

Rare

* Chest pain
* Dark yellow urine
* Dizziness or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
* Slow heartbeat
* Yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
More common

* Abdominal pain
* Flushing
* Headache
* Sleepiness or unusual drowsiness

Less common

* Nausea
* Unusual tiredness or weakness

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.

Both weight gain and weight loss are listed as side effects of Norvasc, but with a very low incidence rate.

Whatever is behind your weight loss, it seems pretty unlikely that it's Norvasc

One of the less common side effects of Norvasc is weight loss, but it usually happens after 2 weeks of treatment. Any sudden, unexpected weight loss should be paid attention to, as it could be a sign of a serious underlying disease. Go to your doctor.
