No. My mom and my daughter are veggies, and a lot of my friends are developing vegetarian habits and cutting down on meat consumption. I try not to be obnoxious about my eating habits; I only talk about it if directly asked and I don't preach. This way (I hope) I'm influencing others by setting an example. I can't stand self righteous vegans and veggies who bully others and think they are on a higher moral ground than everyone else. You know the type. They put up pictures of slaughter houses in the employee break room or cafeteria. They demand explanations for what you are eating and why. They go to a steak house and complain of the lack of vegetarian entrees. Really, a lot of this is funny, but it gives all veggies and vegans a black eye. It makes us all look bad.

No. My wife and most of her family are vegetarians; they are Hindus from India. Most of the other vegetarians I know are either Indian Hindus or members of ISKCON (Hare Krishna).
Every now and then I meet people at work and so on who say they are vegetarian. Most of the time it isn't true. I have met very few real vegetarians who aren't either from India or who are members of Hare Krishna. The rest usually eat fish or chicken or something and call themselves vegetarian for some reason.

I am. I know a girl who claims to be vegetarian but she's constantly eating fish and chicken. I wish I knew somebody who was vegetarian/vegan that I could swap recipes with and what not.

Yes, I didn't realize any vegetarians around me 6 years ago.
But today, me, my family and few relatives, friends are vegetarians. I believe that anyone could widen the "circle of compassion", and an individual has the capacity to love/care all beings and nature.

No, my sister went vegetarian about half an hour after I did (ah, the influence that older sisters have...) And my wretched boss is vegetarian, too.

I've known several people who claim to be vegetarians (people who eat fish, gelatin, meat broths, etc.), but I know one other person who actually is a vegetarian. He's awesome.

No, I'm involved with a local animal advocacy group and pretty much everyone in it is vegetarian or vegan. I'm also living in an apartment with vegans :)
