When my LDL (bad cholesterol) was high, I started exercising and dieting, and lost 20 lbs. Next time I had my test, it was normal. This was a better solution for me than pills. Are you sure you fasted the night before and that morning, too? If you didn't fast, this could give you false results. If the doctor is really concerned about your high cholesterol count, he might want you to start on statins to help lower it.

Cholesterol comes from animal fat like meat, cheese, butter, cream & eggs. Too much cholesterol causes high blood pressure. Eat more vegetables instead. Losing weight lowers blood pressure.

IF you dont want to try the prescriptions (they are expensive) like the STATINS (LIPITOR) etc. You can use the B vitamin NIACIN. The only drawback is the flushing. You will feel like you have a sunburn. You get used to it though. The way around the feeling is take a plain aspirin before (30 minutes) you take the niacin. Beware all niacin is not the same. You want the Nicotinic acid.
