First off honey, you are totally okay and this will not make you be at risk for a heart attack. What you described is the body's natural reaction to being afraid. It is called the "fight or flight" syndrome. Your body pumps out adrenaline and other catecolamines that prepare you to defend yourself when you are frightened. This causes digetion to slow down, the heart rate to go up, your pupil of your eyes will dilate, and blood vessels in your muscles will dilate to feed more blood to your muscles. This is all normal and when the threat is no longer present (you aren't scared anymore) the body kicks out chemicals to bring your body back to its normal state. This is all natural and did not cause you any lasting harm. So relax. You are okay.

I'm also 15, and I think what you've experienced is called Heart Palpitations... which is you're aware that you're heart is beating fast. I don't believe it's life threatening and is usually caused by stress or anxiety. What's stressing you out? School? You just need to slow down and relax. They can also be caused from hyperventilation, caffeine, and anemia (or lack of sleep).
Breathing excercises also help. So don't worry.

I don't think so.I mean you're only 15 right?:That is unless you're into drugs or something b/c that has a dramatic effect on your heart.However,it might be wise to go see a psychiatrists about this b/c normal ppl don't freak out about things such as this;at your age anyway.Believe me,unless you have or had heart problems before you're not going to die okay!!

This is surprisingly common, if it is just a coincidental occurrence, then don't worry. The body was meant to handle short term stress infrequently. The heart has a direct innervating nerve from a parasympathetic nerve system (generally autonomous). More then likely the fear is something you should be more concerned over.

Those are called heart palpitations. I get them every now and then. They started when I was about 16 and now I'm 22. So you'll be OK. I did have a heart monitor put on for 24 hours just to monitor it and the doctor said it was OK. You could be getting them if you arn't eating right or enough. When i get them i fake cough and they stop. Hope I helped.

you r probably not getting enough nutrition. eat protein!!! (eggs, cheese, fish, chicken, beef, etc). but if u were really scared and then your heart started beating faster, then thats just because your body gave you an injection of adrenaline, just in case you need to over exert yourself in any way, for self preservation. but if you r really worried about it, it wouldnt hurt to see a doctor, to know for sure. constantly being worried about the state of your health is damaging to your mind, making you more anxious and worried all the time.
ps- panic attacks involve other elements, such as you cannot concentrate on anything, you think you r gonna die, plus sometimes fainting. i dont think thats wut u have.

it could be a panic attack or it could be a problem with your heart, let your parents know. you are not to young to have a heart attack.there is no such thing as being to young for heart attacks

what you had was a panic attack. I had them when I was younger and they are scary. it only comes on when a person gets scared or excited. go online and read about panic attacks. I out grew them afterwards.
