Payless Shoes is a dependable source for inexpensive vegan shoes. Higher quality vegan shoes, whose longevity and comfort may be closer to leather shoes, are available from Moo Shoes and Otsu, as well as Vegan Essentials , The Vegetarian Site, and Pangea (both also sell a variety of vegan products, including clothing, accessories, food, personal care items, cleaning products and more). Acrylic and 'polar fleece' are popular alternatives to wool, available at many clothing stores. Sleeping bags and coats stuffed with Thinsulate, Polyfil, and other synthetic insulation are often warmer than those stuffed with goose-down. In addition, synthetic insulation retains its properties when wet. Most outdoor stores carry many options.
What quality of leather does Coach use?
Only the top ten percent of all the leather hides in the world are chosen to go through the special Coach tanning process. All Coach leather is selected for its tactile quality, strength, character and grain.

Some vegetarians wear leather, so if leather is acceptable to you, then yes, they are vegetarian.
Many of their purses are coated canvas, but the edges and handles are often leather.
Kate Spade's microfiber/nylon lines are pretty vegetarian - no leather on many of them. Unfortunately, Ms. Spade has cut many of those products out of her line. BUt, they are still fairly available on auction sites.
Stella McCartney makes vegan & vegetarian products, but her high end products are VERY expensive.
Matt & Nat offers vegan handbags. They are actually great quality. http://www.mattandnat.com/
Kathy Van Zeeland also offer vegan products, but the quality varies. http://www.kathyvanzeeland.com/

If you mean are they not made with real leather, I would say they are made with leather. I would just find a designer one thats all canvas or something... but even those use some leather trim.

The definition of vegetarian is a person who eats no meat. Are you asking if a purse/cow is a person? - No. Are you asking if purses/cows eat meat? - No. There are some vegetarian designers, vegetarians are everywhere! FYI - they slaughter cows to make leather, then use the leather to make purses.
