1. going out in cold weather with wet hair: we loose a certain percentage of body heat through our head/scalps and if our bodies are busy keeping warm and they already have decreased resistance; that can set you up for pneumonia.
2. yes; for the same reason as number 1. If your resistance is already compromised and decreased, it isn't difficult for a virus to "latch on."
#3 depends on the intensity of #1 and #2 and how you treat them. Ignore them, and they MAY be THE DEATH like your grandmother used to say!

Pneumonia is caused by a bacteria, virus, or other organism that leads to an inflammation of the lung tissue...it has nothing to do with the weather. The cold is a virus and, again, has nothing to do with the weather.

No,,,pneumonia is a secondary infection caused by the virus...the virus isn't caused by any of the above either, it just may lower your immunity for a virus to invade your body..
You can catch your death if the pneumonia is bad enough.

yes my friend. hypothermia is the worst. dont go outside with your hair wet. your head is exposed the most when outside in the cold, you make it worst by having your hair wet. being out in the cold for too long yes. you start to feel your body parts become numb and you start to shiver, thats called frost bite, you want to avoid your fingers and toes arms etc to get numb. many people die from freezing to death. It happens. you may not feel cold but hypothermia sets in when your body gets to a certain degree. if its cold where you are, wear warm. wear a hat, dry your hair, wear gloves and keep them in your pockets, wear a thick coat, wear a face mask. dont talk while you are out in the cold weather. ( you breath in cold air, it causes cold in side your lungs) wear a scarf. might look weird at first but hey, you would be warm and alive.

While being cold may weaken your immune system slightly, if you are a generally-healthy individual, you won't get sick from any of the above.

The answer is qualified Yes.
If your immune system is low or if your fighting off an illness then you are capable of increasing your risk of catching a more serious illness. If your healthy and immune system is not being challenged then the probability of getting ill is extremely low

Yes, yes, and sort of. Certainly if you got pneumonia and didn't treat it you could die. In your grandmother's day, there probably wasn't much available TO treat pneumonia, so people really could "catch their death" of cold.
