What happened to Daniel when he died? Where is he today?

This ties in to my other question. I am curious to know how many purported students of the Bible really know the answer to this question. Thank you :-)

mj, the last chapter of Daniel does indeed hold the clue/answer, but it's not what you think it is.

The answer is forthcoming :-)

13 "As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance." Daniel 12:13 NIV.

He will rest in the grave until the end of the days...the end of the world. Then he will rise out of the grave to receive his allotted inheritance.

Which will be on a paradise earth. Matthew 5:5 2 Peter 3:13....why? Daniel was not a judge/coruler with Jesus to take the emblems of his death to go to heaven. Luke 22:28-30, 1 Cor. 6:2, 3, Rev. 20:4-6.

Wikepedia says :

The time and circumstances of Daniel's death have not been recorded. However, Daniel was still alive in the third year of Cyrus according to the Tanakh (Daniel 10:1)[9]; and he would have been almost 100 years old at that point, having been brought to Babylon when he was in his teens, more than 80 years previously. He possibly died at Susa in Iran , where the tradition holds to be the place of his tomb is also located, the site of which is known as Shush-e Daniyal. Other locations have been claimed as the site of his burial, including Daniel's Tomb in Kirkuk, Iraq, as well as Babylon, Egypt, Tarsus and, notably, Samarkand, which claims a tomb of Daniel (see "The Ruins of Afrasiab" in the Samarkand article), with some traditions suggesting that his remains were removed, perhaps by Tamerlane, from Susa to Samarkand (see, for instance, Itinerary of Benjamin of Tudela, section 153).

[edit] Descent of Daniel
Daniel was descended from one of the noble families of Judah Daniel 1:3[10], and was probably born in Jerusalem about BCE 620, during the reign of Josiah.[11]

[edit] Name
The pronunciation "Dani'el" ("Judged by God", "God is my Judge" or "Judge of God") is more probable than "Dan'el" (God is a Judge), in consonance with the general structure of Hebrew names.[12] It is therefore probably correct to vocalize the consonants in the three places thus: The hiatus between the vowels "i" and "e" gave rise to the pronunciation "Daniyel".[12] In current times, it is a popular name for males in Israel, wherein it is pronounced "Dani'el".

Daniel is in the grave waiting for the shout to come up hither. And when the dead rise first, Daniel will be caught up to be with God.

Christ when He descended into Abraham's Bosom took captivity captive and some went with Christ at that time and Daniel should have gone then to heaven, but give us your answer.
