There is a form of reincarnation, but not of us but of our genes. Whether it is our offspring or other relations, the last thing a person usually thiks of at death is the welfare of their offspring or younger relations. So we live on in our genes.
Genes do not carry our memories but pehaps the occassional 'remembrance' of a past life comes from a link through our genes.
Just some ideas of mine re reincarnation.
p.s. Can a conventional reincarnationist believer tell me if they come back as a human or an animal and if in same country or planet. This has puzzled me.

This is a very loaded question that everyone think they know but don't.
I don't believe in reincarnation but do believe each of us were put here for a reason. To try and make this world a better place for the next generation. People are living longer, healthier and respecting the environment more. If a person was here before then he should remember something in the past. But today there is no scientific evidence of this fact.

The idea that any aspect of who we are survives brain death is illogical and unfounded. Who we are -- our consciousness, our personality -- is produced by a functioning brain. At brain death we cease to exist. After bodily death, our bodies are consumed as food by other life forms (that's where the energy "goes," for those who like to pretend that our energy somehow exists as a separate entity).
I've, honestly, never understood why some humans have a need to believe in a "next life" or "afterlife" in which they wouldn't retain any memories, in any event. Really, what's the point? What's the allure? Why make up fantastic stories about what happens after we die, rather than do one's best to make the only life we'll ever have as good as possible?

I do not believe in the Hindu reincarnation that you may come back as a flea or a cow. However I do believe in the immortal soul, that makes it possible to return briefly. Christ did just that. on a number of occasions

i believe some come back as something else because they haven't finished learning what god had to teach them the first time around and the others go where they are at peace or where they should be punished....
i base this on how i feel about what i have learned in the hopes that i wont have to repeat my journey back to earth to start over again....
but since my parents decided not to teach me much about religion i will more that likely be back for round two...hopefully as a smarter being...:))
cheers

No, I don't beleive in reincarnation, & I have never met any person who was reincarnated & I have total faith that I NEVER will. If reincarnation was a possible thing it would make GOD a liar!

I don't believe in reincarnation because in my past life I was a liar and I really can't believe a liar.

I do not know if mine is a believe or an hope.
I think that there must be something else to life. Otherwise what is all the purpose of learning?

i am a Buddhist and believe very strongly in previous and future lives.
this is based, firstly on faith. then on familiarly i sometimes feel when certain situations arise.
sometimes i know things automatically.
the connection i feel to some and adversity i feel towards others gives me proof of previous lives. x
