The tour is with the WTU that assist wounded or ill soldiers transition back into military life or into civilain mode.
I would like to know if anyone can share any info as to if I will be authorized POV shipment and HDG shipment?

I'm still waiting on my orders. all I know is they will be Title 10 but that is all the info I have right now.

You are going on deployment - not 'change of station.' Shipment of household goods is only authorized if your permanent duty station changes.

Nope, even active army on an unaccompanied 2 year tour were not authorized POV shipping.
Unless of course things have changed since 93. But I doubt that the congress would fund a pov shipping for a one year deployment.
Fact is if you are married you may not be able to get an accompanied tour.

You normally are given a HHG shipment but it could be a lesser weight than normal if you are going w/o dependents & for 1 year. As for the POV, it is hard to say. Your best bet is to talk to Transportation and find out from them.

no you are not allowed. nor are you allowed to ship household goods either. look carefully at your orders sending you to germany. they will state whether or not you are allowed but national guard soldiers are not allowed to do this. they can't justify the expense of shipping for a person only going to be there for one year.

is it a one year deployment, or a PCS? if it's a PCS you may qualify. If it is coded as a TDY/TAD/deployment, then no.

i think you can but ask your c o just tot be sure we are in germmany for 3 years...in baumholder where will you be?
