You don't refer to specific differences. Firstly, the Roman Catholic Church is the original and the authentic Church founded by Christ. The Anglican Church, for a time, part of the Universal Church, broke away, more for political rather than doctrinal reasons. With the advent of the reformation, the Anglican Church see-sawed between Catholicism and Protestantism but since Victorian times has increasingly swayed on the side of Catholicism. It isn't only the likes of the former Prime Minister who has left the Anglican Church to return "home" - there has been a constant stream ever since the Oxford Movement, jointly founded by Anglican Priest Henry Newman who became one of Britain's most famous converts and eventually became Cardinal Newman, amongst other things, hymn writer, known especially for "Lead Kindly Light"

1. Catholicism began with Jesus telling Peter, "Peter, thy name means rock and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
2. Anglicanism began with Henry VIII desperate for a legitimate son and heir and a marriage which had provided him with no such person.
3. Catholics look to the Holy Father in concert with the College of Cardinals in Rome for guidance on matters of faith and morals.
4. Anglicans decide for themselves what constitutes faith and what is or is not moral behavior. This attitude culminated in the publication by an Anglican bishop titled, "How to be a Christian Without Believing in Christ." Hmmmmmm.....
5. Other than that they're pretty close.

The important question is "What is the difference between "X" and Scriptures? To your Question- They have different "Heads" (authorities) and so different traditions that they follow instead of scripture. Theologically there is very little difference. Historically, the pope wouldn't allow someone to divorce, so he split off, and "promoted" some bishop to "head of the 'church'".

Anglican faith - invented by King Henry VIII as a distraction from his DIVORCE and to promote British nationalism.
Catholicism - enforced by "The Pope" to DIVORCE himself from the 'true' meaning of "Christs" teachings by accumulating vast amounts of wealth.

the fundamental difference is that catholics acknowledge the pope as the head of their church worldwide, but anglicans believe that the queen of england is god's representative on earth.
the pope is elected, the queen was born into her role.
the catholic church is a republic, like the usa.
the anglican church is a theocracy, like saudi arabia.
