I don't remember using the term in the 60's! However, a form of the word has been used often for a derogatory form of saying you're tired, and the would be "sucking canal water"! It was used in the 60's mostly among military types!!!! Good hunting!

Yeah, sucks would've been connsidered rude at that time. I remember saying things like, 'that stinks, that's crummy, that's crappy, stuff like that. I think sucks came in in the late seventies (along with 'that blows!'), but most people didn't use it. When I heard it on TV, in the 90's, I was surprised, since it always seemed sexual to me.

I can't remember what words were used because I was too young. But sux didn't come around 'till the 80's, I think.

Happy Holiday Kit! Good question, although they say, "if you remember the 60's...then you really weren't there" [something to that effect! LOL!] From what I remember..."Bad Scene", "Bad Trip", "Heavy", "Blowin' my mind", "Messed-up", "Anti-Establisment", "Bum Trip". I'm sure I'll get some "flack/feedback"...LOL! XOXO Moonshine
