i bought the car with the sr20de motor already installed, until i blew it up... now my option is to either buy the sr20de for $600 or the sr20det for $1200. i already have the innercooler and turbo that i could put on the sr20de but i dont know if its very healthy for the engine

With out the forged pistons? SR-20 DE just has to much compression and internals not designed for boost. Make the call find a Japan Importer and get a low mile motor. This time make sure your engine controls are able to fire larger injectors and fuel pump able to flow enough fuel to keep the engine from exploding again.

Buy the SR20DET straight from JDM in Japan new for $2,500 that way you know it was done right and you don't risk spending all that money just to blow another engine.
