So, you don't believe in God? But you do believe in somethign greater than yourself, right? Some being or thing that has the power to evolve this earthly world we are living in in this moment.
Here's my take on it. Man has in his small way of thinking and feeling about himself made up a thing called God. Why? Because they do not believe they are the creators of their own world. Man must learn to become responsible for all his actions. Start being a creator instead of a reactor.

Religion is man's search for God. Salvation is God's searching and finding man. Sorry for the poor examples of Christianity you encountered. Don't let that stop you. There is a void within all man for something deeper and higher than anything this world has to offer. That something is a personal intimate relationship with Christ.
Don't let the poor examples of Christianity you experienced be the standard for your life. Set your sight on something higher.
Money cannot satisfy man
Neither can education satisfy man
Nor pleasure can satisfy man
Nor can success satisfy man
God has a plan. This plan has everything to do with man
Man was created to contain God just as a glove was created to contain a hand. Without the hand the glove will never fulfil the purpose of its creation. Similarly, without God, man will never be satisfied.

You have the same problem with Christians that I do. Most are giant hypocrites, but this is be expected. All sin and fall short of the Glory of God. We are not perfect and we all have our issues. The problem with Christians is that they should know better and it's this visible flaw in their personality and appearance that gives "Christianity" a bad name.
You know the rules and have done a comparison with the standard and find fault with everyone. This is also one of the finer aspects of Christianity that make it an acceptable "religion". Christians are called to love one another and accept each other in our sin. We are not called to redeem each other - that is the Providence of God. It is precisely this acceptance factor and calling to be united under one God that brought me to be - a Christian.

Those people are hypocrites. They claim to be Christians, but the love of Christ is obviously not in them.

The word Christian comes from a Greek word that was used to describe the early believers in Christ. The Greek word literally meant "Little Christ." In other words, the early believers were so devoted to Jesus that they started to act more like Jesus and less like themselves...so much so that the people around them started to recognize it and gave them a label, halfway as a joke.

Most Christians in today's society are hypocrites. In fact, in some ways we are all hypocrites. That is why so many people are getting frustrated with Christianity and dropping it for agnosticism or searching other religions. It's unfortunate, because Christianity, while it definitely speaks of sin, Hell, and judgment, also speaks of love, equality, Heaven, restoration of mankind to God, and forgiveness.

If you want to see real Christianity, pray and ask God to show it to you. If you are actively searching to see if a religion is true, petition its god. If you are really searching, and the god is real, don't you think it would respond in some way?

I hope this helps. Feel free to message me if you would like to talk about Christianity.

This guy or woman is stupid. I recomend a first rate comparative religions course. From a Biblical attitude, look at it this form -- God created the seventy countries of the international with their very own languages and cultures and distinctive strategies of being. In paralel, each way of life has/could have a distinctive faith -- a distinctive culturaly apropriate be responsive to-how of and relationship with God. whilst he brings all the cultures at the same time interior the situations to come lower back, then the religions may additionally merge at the same time -- yet for now, the ameliorations between human beings necessitate ameliorations in aproach to God.

The actions of a cult's followers shouldn't influence your decision as to whether or not that cult is true.

The "we are all created equal" bit can be found in the Bill of Rights, not in the Bible.

Disbelieve in god(s) because there is no evidence for them, not because their followers are savages.

Read the Bible, cover-to-cover. There is nothing more obvious than that book is not inspired by an all-loving deity. You don't even have to make it out of Genesis before this fact is clearly known, but you should read the whole thing and become familiar with it. It will become your best weapon against Christians.

Here is a good site to cross reference to a Bible. This site allows you to see the Bible without Jesus goggles on.

as a christian myself, i'd like to apologize for being a hypocrite. too often even i confuse religion, and the people who follow a religion, with god himself. please don't make the same mistake. just like everyone, christians are not perfect. we mess up and are often the last to admit it. i'm sorry for this, but please look at god and jesus, and not necessarily only those christians around you.

from here, you could ask the question 'why would i want to buy into a religion that not even its followers can follow?' i think that's valid, and i think i even face that question in my own quest for truth. my advice would be to look at jesus, but do your own research. read books, ask older christians you know about their faith, or just older people of all different religions about their faith, be active in the search for truth. do whatever it takes to discover what truth is.

God tells us that while he planted good seed into his Church there was an enemy who planted tares (bad seed) while he slept. Thus, there are good Christians who are many times hidden among the tares. These tares try to look like Christians and claim to be Christians but they are of the evil seed.
Luke 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

You will know them by their fruits. There are good Christians out there who are following the law of God:
Love the Lord with all our hearts and all we have and love our neighbors as we love our selves.
Seek him as Jesus Christ and you will find him and you will know that he is the One True and Living God.
