Over one year ago I got what I thought was a tiny whitehead on my tummy. I run, eat right and am a neat freak. I use bleach to clean the house, and have an adorable 2 year old. I got some more little puss filled things around my tummy. My 2 year old also got one on his butt. His was hard and very big. I asked some friends and they said it could have been spider bites. I dismissed them as such. 3 months later I got some all in my genital area! I was tested for an STD and nothing came up!!!! I have them AGAIN down there, and I had one that grew almost to the size of a huge olive under my arm. I couldn't take the pain and tried to lance it. It got better. I keep getting scars from this. Its getting out of hand. Each time until I have been doing reading I thought it was bites. But I am VERY sure now it is MRSA. I had an ear infection that the doctor found to be MRSA. I have no health insurance but the baby does. What should I do to get this out of my system!Keeps coming!

Wow, very dangerous! Get the baby checked out immediately!
You both need to be on major acidophilus or colustrum and should be supplementing that with yougurt but low sugar only. Keep your body in a low acid state by avoiding soft drinks, tea, coffee and heavy meat meals. Add extra fresh and steamed veggies to your diet. If you can get some colloidal silver put it directly on any open sores alternating with liquid Pao d'arco. Also use Oreganol by North American Herb & Spice on an ongoing basis orally. MRSA is nothing to take lightly and can be a killer.
My nephew stayed with us while he was attending school. He had to have surgery and contracted MRSA which required emergency surgery and about a week in the hospital on IV antibiotics. He had a wound on his foot that they were treating also trying to keep it from becoming infected. We used silver salve (prescribed by the doctor) on his foot and I alternated it with the Pao d'arco and hiss foot was healing nicely, just a small pinkish dot by the time he went home for the summer. He decided not to return to school so obviously did not return to our house. He always said I fussed to much over his wounds (I failed to mention he is a brittle diabetic also), but I know how fast this can get away from you. His parents despite the fact that they are both ministers and his father is also a police officer are two of the most irresponsible people I have ever met, especially where it concerns thier children. They could have cared less that he was in the hospital or that he needed to have his wound tended to on an ongoing basis, they thought it looked healed to them so disregarded my advice. He ended up back in the hospital for about 10 days within 5 months of leaving here and is now having to have dead flesh continuously removed from a giant hole in his foot from the MRSA returning from lack of care. I certainly hope they got it in time to save his foot but thats yet to be seen. Don't let up on this disease for a minute and once you have it it's in your system so be ever vigilant. It can take over and be back before you know it. I hope this helps you.

Sorry to tell you, but the only thing that will get rid of it is antibiotics, no other way.
I think that there are only 2 antibiotics left that work on it one being Vancomycin, and you have to be on it long term...not 7-10 days, usually at least 2 weeks. You also need to take the med when it is due and FINISH the prescription, or you will set yourself up for a strain on MRSA that is resistant to the vanc....it has already happened(there is a vanc resistant strain of MRSA now). About the only way to keep it from spreading on you is: when you bath, wash all areas that don't have the boil first then the boil, same way with drying off...then put wash rag and towel in wash...don't use again until washed in HOT water. Do the same with your clothes. If the boil opens up and drains, make sure that it is covered and that you wash your hands every time you touch the area.
Please get your baby in to see the doc, MRSA does get passed around in families, and as you know, it scars terribly.
Have you checked out your local Health Department, a lot of them have income dependent prices on visits and prescriptions. Also, WalMart has discounted prices on prescriptions (about $4), though, I'm not sure if vancomycin is one of them.
Also, please keep in mind, that a boil/abscess can get bad enough to require surgery, so please get it checked out.
-Edit- (between work & the holidays, didn't have time to do research!)
Ok. according to : http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/mrsa.htm
There are 3 drugs that treat MRSA, vancomycin, teicoplanin(Targocid) (I forgot about this one) & linezolid (Zyvox). I can't find a date on the article for it states that vancomycin is only given IV...I've been giving vancomycin in pill form to patients for at least a year now...but the article still has good advice. None of the 3 listed antibiotics are on the WalMart $4 list: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=546834&fromPageCatId=5431
Please keep in mind that you could very well just be having a regular staph infection, which highly likely that erythromycin or ciprofloxacin is effective against plain ol' staph....and is on the WalMart $4 list.
Keep in mind, it might be something totally different, so you do need to get checked out to get effective and proper treatment.

MRSA can be treated with oral antibiotics if you are not septic. These drugs cost $4 at Walmart. You need to do the following:
Wash your body in the shower daily. Wash your hands often in soap and water for a minute.
Be meticulous about washing your bed linens in hot water and no one else sleeps in your bed but you and your spouse.
Use liquid body soap instead of bar soap. If you use bar soap, throw it out now. Its probably contaminated with bacteria.
Use cleaner each time you take a shower to spray down the shower. Just spray it in the shower.
Scrub under your fingernails with a scrub brush and put antibiotic ointment under your fingernails 3 times a day.
You can buy the ointment over the counter at any drug store or walmart.
You sound as if you have bacteria on your hands and are passing it onto your skin.
I am a RN too, and we use other drugs besides Vancomycin for MRSA which is not in the blood stream which is known as sepsis. We only pull out the big antibiotics if your septic.

I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.
Here is a link :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradeniti...
If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.
Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN

and yahoo, and I am open for questions!
I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.

If it *is* MRSA, then you need to get IMMEDIATE treatment with antibiotics. In any case, you need to see a doctor about the repeated outbreaks! It sounds like your child is at risk. Young ones are more susceptible to infection and an MRSA infection can be fatal!!

not sure if that's mrsa or not - i deal with mrsa on a daily basis in the hospital.................you need to seek professional medical attention.........with no insurance, look online for a local free clinic or somewhere you can make payments to them........not sure where you live but MOST ER's will treat you and establish a payment plan...........

Go to the DR. THey can determine if it is MRSA adn give you something to treat it. If the baby gets treated and you don't, you risk reinfecting him. plus MRSA is no game and should be treated.
