No, it cannot. Some people claim that it does but they're wrong.
High blood pressure itself has no symptoms. That's why it's dangerous. People don't know that they have it untill they suffer a heart attack or stroke.
There are several causes of hypertension including genetic pre-disposition; bad diet; sedentary lifestyle and external stress.
It's often the stressful situation (or combination of items in the list) that created the hypertension in the first place, and it is that feature which makes you feel all wound-up. You probably had stress before your blood presure went up.
The medication reduces your blood pressure and reduces your chances of a heart attack (which should make you feel safer) but it cannot remove the extrenal situation.
Therefore, unless something else in your life changes at the same time then you will not feel calmer.

Only certain types of Blood pressure medications. Only Beta-Blockers do so. They work by inhibiting adrenaline.
It is as though if one were to sneak up behind you and try to spook you, you feel shock; if you were taking a Beta Blocker, you wouldn't feel as much of the shock. It blocks the surge of shock, or lessens it.
They makes you feel calmer. Most of them don't have many side effects, but some do, so do research before asking a doctor or whomever about them (if you are to do so). They don't get rid of anxiety, they lessen it. They're better than things like Xanax which simply make you a zombie.
Propananol (spelling) and Zebeta are two good ones. Good luck. Cheers!

I am afraid ACE inhibitors have no calming effect at all. Beta-blockers, less used for hypertension these days, do reduce the physical symptoms of anxiety, but the have no direct effect on mood state either.

Yes. My blood pressure is lower when I take it and I feel more relaxed and more like I should be- normal.
Hypertension (high blood pressure)= too jacked up and too jittery. And not healthy

Mine does both. I feel no anxiety about anything.

Not likely. Most people can't "feel" their blood pressure, whether it is high or low.
