I just used the hole in the wall. Took just enough currency for a few days. Just make sure you have an account that doesn't charge you for using hole in wall abroad.

Don't do what we did, we took Thomas Cook travellers cheques, we got totally ripped off for cashing them in Australia, $80 to cash a $500 cheque, you are better off just taking enough cash to travel to Australia with then use a Cirus bank card or credit card or even on of those top up yourself credit cards.

Take £s (not too much) and a credit card that gives good exchange rate and no commission. Most places accept palstic, but make sure you clear your outstanding (by online banking or direct debit) or the interest will cancel any gains.

Any reputable ATM card will do fine. Have a bit of cash for he initial arrival but there are plenty of ATMs for you to use.

i would exchange a couple of hundred in the states and then use ATM machines after that...just make sure you withdraw several hundred at a time otherwise you get stung for fees. alternatively use your credit card...visa and mastercard are widely accepted american express less so. have a great trip
